Westminster Abbey - Coronation Chair Westminster Abbey is the most famous, as well as one of the most beautiful, ecclesiastical buildings in London. It was founded by Edward the Confessor, and reconstructed in the reign of Henry III. Among other interesting objects in the building is the Coronation Chair, upon which all the kings and queens of England are crowned, and into which is built the old Stone of Scone, of legendary antiquity, placed here by Edward I.
